2025/26 Community Projects [Waste Levy grants]

This round will open at 12 May 2025 (NZST) for submissions.

IMPORTANT: Please read information below to assist you in completing your application online.

About this fund

The waste levy grants support projects that increase the range, scale and number of waste minimisation activities on the Kāpiti Coast. They're funded by part of the Waste Levy fees paid by waste disposal operators and others to the Ministry for the Environment, which is then allocated to local bodies to administer. There is no rates funding involved.

The community projects fund focuses on supporting practical waste minimisation projects that:

  • Encourage community participation and education
  • Benefit the Kāpiti Coast community
  • Lead to long-term waste minimisation actions and behaviour change

Please visit the waste reduction grants information page on our website for further details, including eligibility and funding criteria.
